Selected work

Systems, and libraries.

Engagements are described by the kind of system, not by the client. The libraries below are public, under the EngagingGear GitHub account.

  1. 01

    High-volume commerce and partner APIs

A high-traffic commerce platform and the partner API beside it. Angular and TypeScript for the management sites, C# and Node for services, Azure for hosting, SQL Server for the transactional data, and MongoDB for documents that do not fit one schema. The work has run through checkout, loyalty, order flow, and an API other software vendors call.

  2. 02

    Clinical software used around surgery

Monitoring during a procedure, measurements taken from imaging, and a remote portal so a second clinician can watch the same signals from outside the room. Desktop software in WPF, a web portal in ASP.NET and Angular, and a large automated test suite because the setting requires it.

  3. 03

    A public-health reporting tool

A web application for a health department to record and review reportable events. Angular on the front, .NET for the API, MongoDB for records that do not share one shape, and text messages for notifications that should not wait on someone checking a dashboard.

  4. 04

    Generating APIs from Entity Framework

A developer tool that reads an Entity Framework model and generates the repository, service, and controller layers, plus TypeScript clients and starter screens in Angular and React. It takes the repetitive data-access surface off the critical path.

  5. 05

    Retail store systems

Architecture for the software that runs inside retail stores, and the portals that carry inventory and loyalty data between the store and the rest of the company. ASP.NET, delivered with a team split between onshore and offshore developers.

  6. 06

    Earlier product work in biometrics

Over a number of years, fingerprint identification added to banking and access-control systems: check screening, sign-in in place of passwords, and door and safe-deposit hardware.
